A very large & finely modeled antique Italian cold-painted Orientalist bronze of a young Arab girl, by the Italian sculptor Ferdinando de Luca, circa 1900.
Ferdinando de Luca (also known as Francesco de Luca) was an Italian sculptor working  in the later part of the 19th century and early part of the 20th century, mainly executing high quality Art Nouveau & Art Deco figural subjects.

This large bronze depicts a beautiful young Arab girl wearing a headdress decorated with coins, known as a "Shatweh"; a traditional Palestinian or Ottoman broadcloth headdress decorated with coins. The young beauty is wearing a diaphanous dress that is coldpainted in a delicate green color, she sits on an Ottoman table gazing at herself in a hand mirror. 
The bronze is signed to the back "F. de Luca", this is a large & substantial bronze weighing 58 lbs and 28" tall. Condition is excellent, a fine quality antique Art Nouveau bronze.
