A very good quality antique golden birch Biedermeier three drawer commode/chest of drawers, Austria, circa 1840.
The chest is made from finely figured golden birch, having a stepped top with three large graduated drawers below, each drawer with the original oval ivory lock escutcheon and key. The drawers run smooth and clean and free from aroma, they are lined with original 19th century marbleized lining paper, the top drawer is fitted with three smaller drawers for precious objects, the last drawer is also fitted with a lock. The chest is raised on curved stile feet, condition is excellent, this lovely chest provides a lot of useful storage and is ready to grace your home!
