A fine and large antique Georgian Regency period mahogany wine cellarette, circa 1810.
This large cellarette is of sarcophagus shape and displays the influence of neoclassicism in the late 18th century, the hinged lid with a central rectangular tablet above sloped sides, to the interior is the original galvanized tin liner which would easily accommodate a full case of wine.
The base of taped form with a stepped plinth and raised on compressed bun feet with the original castors for ease of movement, the cellarette is made from the finest solid Cuban mahogany. Condition is very good indeed, a fine antique cellarette/wine cooler in very good antique condition, one could easily store a case of your favorite red wine or chill down your favorite white burgundy and fill the galvanized liner with ice.
