A fine antique French lacquer & inlaid abalone sewing Etui or Necessaire, circa 1840. The black lacquer case is very finely inlaid with an oval garland of abalone roses, and an inlaid rose to each corner, to the center is an inlaid silver table that is vacant, free of a monogram. The case with a hinged lid, the interior is fitted with red velvet & silk, the case retains the original contents, comprising; a silver topped scent bottle, pair of cut & polished steel scissors, a cut & polished steel needle case, sewing thimble, a cut & polished crochet hook and needle. A fine antique inlaid necessaire case and contents, in excellent condition.
