A very good set of antique 19th century mahogany library steps, circa 1860.

This set of library steps are made of solid flamed mahogany, the upper two steps of ogee form and all three steps are inset with an original high quality tooled & gilded 'Oxblood' colored inset leather. The very top step with a hinged top with a storage area underneath, the middle step pulls forward to reveal a surprise and quite the talking point; an original lidded porcelain chamber pot!

The steps are of robust construction and will facilitate the most substantial of human beings to step up and reach that book from the very top shelf. Condition of the steps is very good indeed, leather inset panels and chamber pot is in excellent condition, the mahogany retains the original finish. These very handsome steps are ready to grace your home or office library!
