A fine antique George III period oak Welsh dresser with plate rack, circa 1780.
A very handsome oak dresser of attractive proportions from the Conwy area of North Wales, it is in two section the dresser base & plate rack top. The enclosed plate rack with an ogee shaped cornice with an inlaid pediment below, the geometric fruitwood inlay of circular & lozenge shape, the plate rack with three shelves. The base with three frieze drawers over three central drawers and are flanked by two paneled cupboard doors enclosing spacious storage areas, all the drawers and doors are fitted with the original round brass pulls. The dresser base has corresponding circular & lozenge shaped fruitwood inlays & the drawers and doors have 'kite' shaped ivory inlaid escutcheons/lock-plates , the dresser in raised on shaped bracket feet.
The dresser and plate rack are in very good antique condition, this lovely Georgian dresser is ready to grace your space.
