A very handsome antique Georgian oak & crossbanded mahogany Welsh dresser/server, from the Wales, Shropshire borders, circa 1780.
A lovely George III oak & mahogany crossbanded dresser base, Welsh borders c. 1780. The plank top with a mahogany crossbanded border and applied edge molding, with stepped molding below. The dresser with three substantial drawers and corresponding mahogany crossbanding & molded edges, each drawer is fitted with the original brass 'bat-wing' handles and escutcheons/lock-plates, functioning locks and key is also present, the drawers run straight & smooth.
Below is a shaped apron with three twin carved 'C' shaped scrolls, the sides with raised panels and the corners with short ribbed pilasters. The dresser is raised on very elegant Queen Anne legs with shell & scroll carving & raised on pad feet, to the rear solid oak sturdy square stile legs with chamfered edges.
Great mellow honey color and wonderful condition, the dresser has been lovingly cleaned & waxed in Bloomsbury's professional workshops, this very elegant dresser base from the late 1700's is ready to grace your space.
