Antique French Portrait Miniature Painting Young Boy 18k Gold Silver & Diamonds

A fine antique French portrait miniature painting, set in an 18 karat gold and silver frame inset with diamonds, 1879.

The frame having a hinged back that is made of 18k gold (guaranteed and tested) the bezel or frame is silver and is inset with diamonds around the border. The frame is marked (A B and a stork) to the hanging loop for the French goldsmith Alfred Victor Bricogne, 1879. The frame houses a portrait of a very handsome young boy in 18th century costume and is very skillfully painted on an ivory wafer, the painting is contemporary in date and original to the frame.

The miniature is housed in a hard fitted leather case, condition is excellent, a beautiful and finely made object.
