Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), terracotta fish pitcher. Madoura pottery 1952.
This original terracotta fish pitcher was created by Picasso in 1952 and was produced by Madoura Pottery workshop located in Southern France. There were two versions of this artwork, one around 4.5" the other at around 8.5", this is the larger of the two editions of 500, inscribed to the base "Edition Picasso & Madoura" Stamp "Edition Picasso" Stamp madoura plein feu.
This artwork is featured in Alain Ramie's  "Picasso Catalogue of the edited ceramic works 1947-1971". Madoura: 1988. Listed and illustrated in the catalogue raisonne no. 574.
The pitcher is in excellent condition and will be accompanied with a Certificate of Authenticity. The most recent sale of one of these pitchers was at Sotheby's, London, 23rd February 2021 and the selling price was $ 26,648.
