A color abstract geometric composition titled "From Color to Form" IV, executed in 1969, by the celebrated Italian artist Marino Marini (1901-1980).


Marini was mainly a sculptor, he studied in Florence, until 1940 he was professor of art at the Scuola d’Arte di Villa Reale near Milan, he was a friend and contemporary of Jean Arp, Max Beckmann, Alexander Calder, Giorgio de Chirico and Alberto Giacometti. He participated in the "20th Century Italian Art" exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in NY, 1944, with work exhibited in the Hague, Gallery of Modern Art Milan, Natiopnal Museum of Modern Art Tokyo, The Peggy Guggenheim Collection amongst many others.

This image sold at Christies Auction NY in their 19th & 20th Century prints auction November 3rd 1998 for $4,600.
