Large Antique German Oil on Canvas Norwegian Fjord Landscape Scene 1890

A fine and Large oil on canvas painting by Karl Julius Rose (1828-1911), "Norwegian Fjord", signed and dated 1890.
The artist also painted under the names; Antonio Julius Rose and Georg Caree.
The painting depicts a stunning scene of a Norwegian Fjord, to each side of the river is a settlement with cabins and figures, tall masted fishing boats are moored on one side on the other side are cabins and a man rowing across the river in a small row boat. To the back ground is a steamship navigating through the deep glaciated valley with snow topped cliffs to both sides, the painting is signed lower right
"Julius Rose Munchen 1890". The back of the canvas having the stamp for the acclaimed Wimmer Gallery in Munich Germany, which has been in business since 1825 selling important works of art. There is also a second paper label for another art gallery to the frame, the painting is housed in the original gilded frame, condition of the painting and frame is excellent.

This painting is fresh to the market from a private American collection.
