An original signed Grant Wood lithograph, "December Afternoon" 1941.
A fine impression of this charming winter scene by the painter of "American Gothic" & the most celebrated American regionalist along with Thomas Hart Benton. This is one of 250 stone lithographs first published in 1941 by Associated American Artists, New York, handsigned in pencil lower right "Grant Wood".
The condition is fine, a rich, crisp impression with wide margins, framed with museum acid free archival materials & under UV glass. The original descriptive label from Associated American Artists is adhered to the verso, the artwork comes complete with the original sales catalogue from Associated American Artists. Excellent condition, a very nice example of Wood's work, there is a related drawing for this print at the University of Iowa Museum of Art.
