Higgs & Evans were based at Sweetings Alley & Later at the Royal Exchange London, circa 1775. The firm of Robert & Peter Higgs & James Evans who made made extremely high quality clock, this was evidenced by Peter Higgs being made Master of The Worshipful Company of Clock-makers in 1767. Higgs & Evans occasionally signed their clocks "R. & Pedro Higgs & Diego Evans", rather than the Anglicized versions of their names to appeal to the Spanish speaking market. Higgs & Evans clocks & watches are in many fine museums, there are watches featured at the science Museum in South Kensington, a tall case clock in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, several clocks in the British Museum collection, and a bracket clock located in the Virginia Museum. There are several clocks by Higgs & Evans illustrated in Herbert Cescinsky & Malcom Webster's book "English Domestic Clocks".
