An unusual antique Italian porcelain pitcher jug in the Neoclassical style, Capodimonte, Circa 1880.

The jug modeled with a fabulous lion handle, a pouring spout to the front and decorated with a band of vine and grapes around the neck. The base of the pitcher is sumptuously decorated with Neo-classical figures in high relief, the figures in Greco-Roman dress and having a band of icons from antiquity below. The jug raised on a flared foot, marked to the underside with an underglazed blue crown and "N", condition is excellent.
