A very elegant antique Art Deco stoneware pottery vase with gilt bronze mounts by French sculptor and designer Andre Villien, circa 1925. 
The globular stoneware glazed pottery vase having applied bronze mounts, with a circular cuff mount to the neck with three handles formed from the cuff, each decorated with stylized flowers. The vaxse having a band of blue & dark blue web decoration punctuated with light brown circular motifs outlined in orange, the vase is signed to the base "A. Villien". 

Andre Villien was born in the late 19th century and was active in Paris between 1905 and 1924, he was a sculptor and designer of Art Nouveau & Art deco objects, including silver, pewter, pottery & glass and collaborated with many other prominent French designers of the time such as Andre De latte & Charles Schneider. This very elegant Art Deco vase is the epitome of the Age of Jazz, Josephine Baker dancing in Paris, the Great Gatsby etc It is in excellent condition and ready to grace your space.
