A fine antique 19th century Chinese Qing dynasty Imperial green Celadon Gu shaped porcelain vase, circa 1850.
The vase of Gu shape, originally an ancient shaped tall and slender wine vessel with a flared base, tapering to a slim waist and a trumpet shaped mouth that is wider than the base.
The vase with a jade green celadon glaze decorated in relief with two bands of lappets and a central cuff with floral decoration. The vase is marked to the base with a blue six character tributary Qianlong reign mark to the base, the vase is in excellent condition, no damage or restoration noted.
Provenance; From the collection of the celebrated Chinese artist Paul Hau (Hou Beiren) born 1917, this vase along with three paintings by the artist was gifted to the previous owners in 1969.
