Chinese Carved Wedding Bed, Qing Dynasty, Circa 1880. Chinese carved & poly-chromed wedding bed most likely Canton. The bed is ornately carved & decorated with poly-chrome lacquer. The cornice having reticulated & hand painted panels, below are deeply carved panels with scenes representing warring states. The front of the bed having twin carved & reticulated windows enclosing a host of painted panels and panels carved with dedications in Chinese characters. The bed is made entirely with mortise & tenon construction, no nails or pins have been used, dimensions
