A fine & elegant Georgian Regency rosewood & brass chiffonier/sideboard, attributed to Gillows of Lancaster, circa 1820.
This very attractive and good quality rosewood chiffonier having a galleried back with a single shelf supported by a pair of brass baluster shaped columns, surmounted with a pair of neoclassical urn shaped finials. Below is a single drawer flanked with a pair of recessed 'tablets' lined with gilt brass acanthus leaf trim. The base having twin doors with gilt brass grills which enclose a single shelf, the chiffonier is raised on a plinth shaped base.
Bloomsbury has been in the antique and fine art trade for 40 years, both in the UK and the States, we sold an almost identical chiffonier in 2020, that cabinet had the "Gillows Lancaster" stamp on the drawer edge.
Condition is very good indeed, no damage or restoration noted, the cabinet is ready to grace your home.
