A good tall antique French Provincial chestnut & walnut Louis XV armoire, circa 1790.
The armoire with a removeable cornice and a ribbed gallery to the front and sides, the armoire with two large doors with shaped panels made of burl chestnut, the doors with full length barrel hinges and pierced iron lockplates (key is present). The base with a single long drawer fitted the original iron handles and lockplates, the armoire is raised on short cabriole pad feet and joined with a shaped skirt. To the inside is a shelf and room for two more and also a rail to hang clothing.
The armoire has a rich warm honey colored patina and has just been lovingly waxed in Bloomsbury's workshops, condition is very good, this lovely late 18th century armoire is ready to grace your home.
