Antique French Portrait Miniature oil Painting, Jenny Savy, circa 1860. The painting being larger than most portrait miniatures and painted by Jenny Savy, a renowned French portrait miniature artist of the 19th century. The miniature is finely painted and follows a self portrait work by the celebrated 18th century French portraitist, Madam Vigee Lebrun with her daughter Jeanne Lucie-Louise. The painting is housed in an oval engraved brass bezel, the painting signed lower right, "Jenny Savy." The painting is mounted on a red velvet background & is housed in the original gilded brass frame, the frame being of easel form and having a crest with two birds astride a flowering urn. The frame is of inverted ogee form and is finely engraved, both the painting and frame are in excellent condition.
