A majestic inlaid antique marquetry German buffet in the Baroque taste, circa 1880.
The sideboard of serpentine shape and having a carved and inlaid marquetry back, the back having a carved scrolled crest to the top and carved scrolls at each end, the serpentine top also having inlaid marquetry. The cabinet has the most impressive marquetry inlay throughout, made of fruitwood, walnut and burl ash, the front of the cabinet having twin drawers (original key is present) and twin cupboard doors below enclosing a single shelf. The cabinet having a carved & scrolled skirt, raised on squat cabriole legs with carved acanthus leaves and scrolled feet.
