Pair of Antique Islamic Qajar Period Ottoman or Persian silver & carnelian Boxes, circa 1880.
An unusual pair of antique Islamic Ottoman or Persian silver lidded boxes, circa 1880, each box being of conical shape and having a 'minaret' shaped finial to the lid, both boxes are finely engraved with Arabesque & leaping deer, interspersed with calligraphy. The bases have corresponding engraving and both the lids and bases are gem set with cabochon carnelians, each box raised on five zoomorphic feet. Condition is very good.
