A fine & rare antique Chinese Qing Dynasty rosewood and Mother-of-Pearl inlaid apothecary cabinet, circa 1850. The cabinet having a hinged top inset with two dark marble panels and enclosing a shallow storage area, the outside of the cabinet is profusely decorated with inlaid & engraved floral Mother-of-Pearl decoration. The front of the cabinet having 36 drawers which are also profusely inlaid with corresponding mother-of-pearl decoration, each drawer having the original hand cut metal hardware. The top center of the cabinet having twin cupboard doors also with floral M.O.P. inlay and each door with an inlaid M.O.P. double happiness symbol, the cabinet is raised on style feet and joined with a shaped apron.
The cabinet is in excellent condition; a rare & unusual antique Chinese Qing dynasty apothecary cabinet, circa 1850.
