An elegant antique Arabesque Chaise Longue Sofa, circa 1880.

The sofa in the Moorish style and most likely made in Syria or another country in the Levant, in the last quarter of the 19th century. The chaise has just been professionally re-upholstered in a high quality fabric with a Persian print of Ferdowsi's 11th century epic poem the Shahnameh (The Book of Kings), also included is a circular sofa cushion. The sofa having carved Arabesque panels on all sides, the sofa also with calligraphic ebonized panels incised with Arabic proverbs, the front of the chaise with finials and raised on four compressed bun feet.

Condition is very good and the chaise is robust and ready to grace you home.
