Antique carved Italian walnut bed in the Neoclassical taste, circa 1870.
The bed with incredible carvings throughout, to the top of the headboard is a removable crown carved with a maiden holding her long tresses of hair and wearing diaphanous robes, she is flanked by a pair of pineapple finials, below is a carved frieze panel with nine cherubic figures making floral garlands. The foot board is carved with a circular cartouche containing a winged angel holding two banners, the angel figure is flanked with a pair of stylized fern shaped fans, the bed is raised on compressed bun feet.
The bed is truly a remarkable feat of of the carvers skill, the interior measurements are 80" long 58.25 wide, condition is excellent the bed is solid and ready to grace your home.
