Antique French Napoleon III Bronze Grand Tour Novelty Drum Desk Inkwell 1850

A good antique French 'Grand Tour' bronze novelty inkwell modeled as a drum, circa 1850. The inkwell is finely & realistically cast as a French Revolutionary period drum. The inkwell's lid has a pair crossed drumsticks to lift the lid and enclosed is a reservoir with four compartments for pens. the drum has metal rope tensions wires as there would have been on an original late 18th century drum. The bronze has a mellow antique patina, the inkwell is in great antique condition.
