A very fine period antique French Louis XV/XVI inlaid walnut & marble top & ormolu mounted commode/chest, circa 1780. The commode having the original Breccia specimen marble top, the commode of breakfront form and having three graduated drawers, the front and sides of the chest inlaid with a lozenge shaped fruitwood parquetry design. The chest is adorned with the highest quality gilded bronze mounts and handles, including four corbel brackets with female busts. The commode raised on cabriole legs with ormolu mounts and sabots to the feet. This transitional Louis XV/XVI commode circa 1780-1800 is in remarkable, excellent condition and ready to grace your home.
