A very good antique carved Breton extending dining table, Brittany France, circa 1900.
The table having a draw leaf at each end that extends to 101", the table could seat up to 12 people, the top and leaves are inlaid with a geometric parquetry design. The base having a carved skirt, at each corner there is a block carved with a pair of stylized flowers and to the center is a carved figure (one male one female at both ends) depicting a Breton in traditional dress, the figures stand on corresponding blocks and joined with a 'H' frame stretcher, the table is raised on compressed bun feet.
The table is in very good condition, over the last forty years we have sold many such tables of this form, this is the nicest quality one we have had! The table is ready to grace your home and receive your guests for dinner!
