A fine antique Federal Empire period carved flame mahogany high back/arm loveseat sofa, circa 1815, Mid Atlantic States, New York or Baltimore.
The sofa has just been professionally re-upholstered in a very high quality green velvet, the sofa having a carved mahogany frame with a carved gadrooned 'rope twist' curved back. The front of the sofa having twin curved arms with a carved rosette with carved acanthus leaves below, raised on four out swept legs with acanthus leaf carving and lion's paw feet. The sofa has been totally re-upholstered in a high quality green velvet to a very high standard and it is very comfortable, robust and stable. The loveseat has two circular cushions with a Fleur-de-Lis button and a gold tassel at each end, the sofa is ready to grace your home or your office. A fine American early 19th century Federal love seat sofa in excellent condition.
