A fine Mid Century Modern 54" coffee table set with four slipper chairs, designed 
Tomlinson Lounge Chair by John Lubberts & Lambert Mulder for Tomlinson & signed "Tomlinson Sophisticate" 1959. 
A very rare set from Tomlinson's "Sophisticate" line, with the impressive 54" diameter six-leg coffee table made of butternut and pecan woods. Having a dished top edge with sunburst pattern figured butternut & wood butterflies mortised into joints. The table has the original four slipper chairs with caned backs & loose seat cushions, the chairs having sculptural, wrap around back supports. The cushions have just been professionally reupholstered with a very high quality mohair fabric, and the underside panels have also been skillfully replaced.
The caning and upholstery & wood on the table & chairs are all in remarkable condition, no damage or repair, the table has the "Tomlinson Sophisticate" label to the underside.

A very rare MCM set in excellent condition and ready to grace your space, the 54" table has sold on its own on 1stdibs for $5,000, there are currently four such chairs on 1stdibs without the 54" table for $11,000. We may consider splitting the set should a buyer wish to acquire one or the other?
