A good French impressionist oil on canvas painting by Edouard Ducros (1856-1936), signed and dated 1930.

The painting depicts boats in the harbor in Martigues France (near the Cote d'Azur), finely painted with impasto technique, the painting has good balance of color and composition, signed and dated lower right. To the verso is the artist's exhibition label, with his name, address and the title of the work.
Ducros was a very competent artist and embraced the impressionist style, he studied under both Julien Gustave Gaillardin and Louis Gautier, he exhibited in many of the salons of the day, including Paris and Lyon and his works are housed in many respected museums. He founded the Society of Friends of the Arts of Aix-en-Provence, a similar painting of the Grand Canal in Martigues was acquired by the city of Paris.

Condition is very good and ready to hang on your wall.
