A very fine & rare pair of antique 18th century Georgian mahogany & satin wood marquetry card table, circa 1780, Ex-Christies.
The tables of demi-lune shape when closed, when open they form a full circle, the table tops are finely inlaid with floral marquetry of satinwood, the table edges are crossbanded with mahogany and ebony stringing. The table skirts are also crossbanded, the subtle tapered legs are inlaid with ebony stringing and to the top of each leg is an oval inlaid patera.
The back legs of the table fold out to support the table when open to a round, both table tops are inlaid with green baize, the tables have substantial brass hinge supports.
Both tables are in excellent antique condition, this rare pair of antique Goergian inlaid tables are Ex-Christies in 2006 for $15,000.
