A very fine antique Napoleon III French style ebonized Boulle & ormolu Bonheur du Jour by Nordisk Kunst & Mobel-Etablissement, Copenhagen Denmark, 1903. In remarkable condition.

This very fine & elegant antique Bonheur du Jour is made from ebonzied mahogany and brass & tortoiseshell Boulle work, with sumptuous gilt bronze/ormolu mounts. Andre-Charles Boulle (1642-1732) was the pre-eminent furniture maker in France in the early 1700s, he cretated a method of making highly decorative marquetry with brass & tortoiseshell.
The arched top having a pair of gilt bronze Neo-classical twin handled urn shaped finials, below is a panel of brass & tortoiseshell inlay following the arched pediment. Below are a pair of doors elclosing two shelves & drawers below also inlaid with Boulle marquetry and flanked top & bollow with gilt bronze corbel brackets.  
The base having a single long drawer with a sliding panel inset with the original felt writing  surface, the slide enclosing a storage drawer. The table is raised on four cabriole legs, each fitted with a gilt bronze mount with a mask of a beautiful maiden, the legs inlaid with Boulle and fitted with gild bronze sabots to the feet.
The cabinet has the cabinet maker's label to the back' " Nordisk Kunst & Mobel-Etablissement", the label is dated " 18/8/03" and number "389". Condition is incredible, no damage or condition issues, this very elegant fine quality marquetry desk/cabinet is ready to grace your space.
