A fine antique American carved mahogany late Federal period corner cabinet, East Tennessee, circa 1820.
The cabinet with a twin 'Swan's Neck' pediment to the top with carved rosettes, to the center is is a urn shaped flaming finial above a corresponding rosette. The cabinet having two sets of doors with astragal glazing, the upper doors enclosing three shaped shelves, the lower doors enclosing a single shelf, the interior with original paint. To the center is a single drawer flanked by two dummy drawers, to each side is a substantial column with a carved Ionic capital, the cabinet is raised on tall carved lion's paw feet.
This cabinet is typical of East Tennessee from the first quarter of the 19th century, condition is excellent, no damage or condition issues, the cabinet with lots of useful storage/display.
